Getting Started with Breakroom

How do I get started with Breakroom?

There are two ways to begin with the Breakroom app, depending on who you are in the company.

Creating a New Organization

Your phone number is your primary login credential for Breakroom. Additionally, you can utilize it to sign into Breakroom on devices other than a phone, such as an iPad, or when accessing Breakroom through the Web.

First Create a Breakroom account.

  1. Go to breakroomapp.com/download, or download the Breakroom app on your phone through the Apple store or Google Play store
  2. Download the Breakroom app on the iOS App Store or the Android Play Store
  3. Enter your phone number
  4. Enter the PIN that will be sent to your phone via text

Next Set up your basic profile information and your Organization on Breakroom

  1. Type in your name and, if you’d like, add your picture. This is how you will appear to your team members in the app, but you can change the photo or edit how your name appears later, if you need to.
  2. Tap “Save”
  3. Give your new Organization a name
  4. Tap “Create”
  5. Add coworkers to the Organization, manually or through your address book, Or
  6. “Skip” this step for now and go directly to the Chat tab.

If you opt to invite team members at a later stage, simply navigate to the Team tab located in the bottom navigation bar of the app screen. There, you'll discover various methods to invite new team members. Alternatively, if you manage a sizable team, we're more than willing to assist you in sending invitations on your behalf! Creating New Managers

Many Organizations typically require at least two team members to serve as designated Managers within the app, ensuring coverage in case one Manager is unavailable. In certain Organizations, administrative tasks and responsibilities may also be distributed among multiple individuals. Designating any coworker as a Manager is a straightforward process. How do I join my team on Breakroom?

Joining an Existing Organization (new team members)

To become a part of your team’s Organization, a member of the Organization needs to extend an invitation to you to join Breakroom. Reach out to someone on your team, have them open the Breakroom app and head to the Team tab. From there, they can choose one of several other methods of extending an invite. Once you log into your Breakroom account you can start communicating with your team!

Note Managers can restrict invite capability to “Managers only.” If your coworker doesn't see the invite options in their Team tab, you'll need to request a Manager to send you the necessary invite to join the Organization.
